Firewise Learning Center
This online learning center was developed by the National
Wildland/Urban Interface Fire Program to provide information and
education about wildland/urban interface fire safety to a diverse and
growing audience. Web-based training on a variety of wildfire safety
topics can help you to create a more Firewise future. The Firewise
vision is that wildland fires can occur in areas of residential
development without disastrous loss of life, property and resources.
Click on “Enroll in a Course” to begin. You will be asked
for basic information so that we can know how many people are enrolling. From
here you can begin your online learning experience. The courses
include video, interactive modules, and short quizzes.
While courses are not graded and do not provide formal certification,
you will receive a certificate of completion when you finish each
course.
Courses are made available at no charge, and anyone can enroll. They
are sponsored by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) as
supplementary to the technical wildfire training offered in the NWCG
series.
In addition to the interactive courses, the Firewise Learning Center
also includes links for educators to school curriculum on a variety of
wildfire-related topics.
